Best Song of 2013

Welp. There I said it. On this third day of the the first month of  2013th year, I have made a mighty, mighty claim. That’s unless TSwift comes out with a unique song about a boy and a breakup. Obvi.

I have to thank my creepy Uncle Todd for sending this my way. He sent it two days ago and I haven’t stopped listening to it. The more you play it, the more you love it.  For serious, try it.

The lyrics and his (Matthew Houck) voice. The violin. The synths. All wrapped up into one moving, somber and ear pleasing gift. I don’t even want to really talk about it-let’s just listen…again.

I will not lay like this for days now upon end
You will not see me fall, nor see me struggle to stand
To be acknowledge by some touch from his gnarled hands
You see, the cage, it called. I said, “Come on in”
I will not open myself up this way again

Oye… can you feel his pain?

Phosphorescent-Song for Zula

Looking forward to the album release in March.
